I receive an email that I believe to be a hoax from sbcglobal internet services How do I determine if it is ok?

the email was from fgallant7314@rogers.com and asks me to click a link to confirm my email address. It states that it is asking me to do so because I have been sending too much spam and my box is full.

Well, it's not from SBCglobal.net, an SBC employee wouldn't be using and provider like @rogers.com for work, it is probably a hoax. Clicking the link might take you somewhere that will upload a virus or something.
Reply:It probably is spam.

Hover over the link to see where it's directing you to. If you see an IP address (such as http://209.885.171.100) or an address that is not your ISP it's definitely spam.

You can always contact your ISP directly to ask about it.
Reply:Let's assume that it is a HOAX. Just hit DELETE.

There is no way that SBCGLOBAL would send you an email from a rogers.com email address. It is unlikely that they would send you an email from an sbcglobal account either. ATT.COM maybe...

Good luck
Reply:It's definitely a hoax!

If you click the link you could get viruses, adware, spyware, etc.

And by clicking on the link, you also confirm a valid email address.

You will really get a lot of email spam after that!
