The email from serv@sbcglobal.net had explained that they show emails leaving my machine have worms attached. Along with their email, there was an attachment, Update-KB8598-x86.exe. But I chose not to open it before I asked someone. The email from serv@sbcglobal.net did go into my spam folder when it arrived. If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it.

Dont open it. If its a worm on your comp try checking it free online with http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan/ or best is format your computer or scan your pc with good anti virus like Norton or McAfee

Well, stop posting your email addres to the internet like you did in the question!!! It makes it very easy for spammers to harvest.
Set up a filter in your email service that sends spam to a junk/bulk folder so you don't have to see it. Most email software allows you set either set filters or block address/senders.

Why isnt mail from my yahoo acct received in other yahoo mails? hotmail and sbcglobal are both receiving them.
i can send a mail from my yahoo acct to myself or to another yahoo account and it never gets there....but the same mail will be received if i send it to a hotmail or other account. in my yahoo account i am able to receive mails from other yahoo accounts, but not my own. very confusing....

Sorry, it is just part of the glitch in Yahoo!'s new format.
Server Farm incompatibility is usually the problem.
Thousands are having many different problems with their e-mail.
This applies to almost all areas of mail (including signing in, composing, receiving, sending, attachments, photos, etc.), original and beta mail, messenger and search problems. Yahoo! is wrapping up a few remaining compatibility issues between Yahoo! Mail Beta (beta testing lasts for at least 6 months!!!) and the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.
1. You will have less problems with original mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger.
2. Or if you don't have Yahoo Messenger:
Beta wouldn't let me in so I went to beta help and it said to click on my toolbar mail icon. So I did and it worked!
3. Or if you don't have beta mail:
http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/ can be used to sign into Yahoo!, then put yahoo back into the address bar and hit go. It will take you back to Yahoo! and you can open mail normally. Otherwise, you can open mail in wap, but it is blind. I had to go through wap each time I logged in.
4. BETA means TESTING!!!
So, it seems we have to stop using these two programs (if you installed them) or try to work around them until they finish wrapping things up. Your IE6 is still installed, so you just have to go to: Start, settings/control panel, add/remove programs and delete IE7. For Beta mail you only have to use the switch back option located in your mail inbox.Also, where you sign in by clicking on: Are you having trouble?.

SBC should have a setup section on their web page. It will include things like if you need to use SSL, or more likely if you just have to authenticate for POP and SMTP. If they use special ports (not 25 and 110) they should be listed there.
